Have I become a Yogi?

I haven't posted since the 20th, but I don't always have time to do this stuff.  haha.

I finally went back to 8 hour shift and I am working 1st shift.. and I don't have time?
seems kind of stupid to say it, but find myself spending more time with the family and making good food.

On Monday we made some burgers on the George Foreman
On Tuesday I made some Burbon Chicken --from a reciepe I got off pintrest that every seems to enjoy.  I also made a Blooming Bread with mozzeralla
Yesterday we made steaks on the grill! super YUM!!

Today's plan is Tilapia or some other fish for dinner.
I been keeping up on drinking water usually 96 oz sometimes more--yesterday I had more than 124 oz.

Weighing in tomorrow it will be almost 2 weeks since I started eating right! I am excited.

Either way thought I would share the video I am using for doing yoga figured I might as well start somewhere and this stuff is HARD for me but figured once I become a little more flexible and stronger I would proceed to something not so free. haha!

20 January 2013

today...

today was my "bad" day I had already planned to have a "bad" day because it was going to be my mom's birthday and we were going to have pizza at work and I figured as long as bad days and bad moments don't get out of control and the amounts are not ridiculous then it was OK.

I feel like i am cheating a lot though so I have to recommit!

0700 tuna, hard boiled egg-1, cucumber
0900 cheese, tomato

So I weighed my self 1 week ago on Friday today I am 5 lbs less.  That is  equivalent to 1 bag of sugar.  I am happy I am feeling good and I have tons of energy.  I am hoping when Monday rolls around I will have lost 2 additional pounds that will make it 1 lb. per day since I started eating right!  I had a late start today and soooo here is what I am doing.

15 January 2013

another day....

0600 Water
0700 cheese crisp-1, cantaloupe-1 cup
1100 cottage cheese-3/4 cup, strawberries-1.5 cup
1130 approx. 12 peanut m&ms
1500 mango-1 cup, 5 pretzels
1900 honey smoked salmon, wheat thins-10, steamed veggies with cheese (these sucked)-1 cup
cheese and peperoni off a slice of pizza

total water: 124 oz.

I wanted my salt and pretzels were in my bag... must keep away from them though. haha! and the cheese and peperoni was not a great idea either but it killed my craving for the pizza that my family was having and wasn't as bad as actually eating the entire slice

The other thing was the peanut M&Ms it wasn't about self control or even about wanting the M&Ms.  But a co-worker offered me some and I said "no, thank you." I wasn't craving them or wanting something sweet.   She then opened her ziploc baggie and left it on the counter and said help yourself if you want some.  about 15 minutes later I realized I was on my second handful of about 6 M&Ms.  I didnt even want them.  I wasn't craving them.  If I wanted something yum like that I would have had snickers or  It just goes to show how used to stuffing myself with whatever is in front of you without thinking.

Another thing that is hard for me is the throwing away of food. For example, what do I do with the pizza crust/bread?  Even when I wasn't watching what I ate I never threw away the crust I would just eat it later.  I forced myself to throw away the crust/bread part when I picked off the cheese and pepperonis.  It was like throwing away my favorite book.  And I don't even LIKE pizza.  I had always been taught to recycle and reuse and above all--DON'T waste!  Cans, water bottles, food waste=compost. I even don't buy green onions any more because I grow my own due to saving the ends of the last ones I bought so I wouldnt have to buy MORE.  I don't know if this makes sense to anyone but seriously it is not fun throwing away half eaten food. :(

Day 2

new stat:  1.5 lbs less!

yippy skippy... not much and it could be water weight but----I am drinking more water and I am eating more and I am happy and 1.5 lbs seems insignificant but it makes me feel like I am doing what I should be doing... a few more 1.5 lbs and I will be where I want to be!

0600 Water
0700 Mango-1
0900 cereal (honey bunches of oats), low fat milk-1 pint
1130 salad--spinach/lettuce, tomato-1, cheese, hard boiled egg-1
1500 strawberries-1 cup
1630 shredded chicken/pork-about 3 tbs, cilanto/onion, fresh salsa
1830 hamburger patty, steamed broccoli and cheese-about 1 cup

total water: 115 oz.
feeling good.. i took pictures today and I am ashamed to post them but keeping them so I can laugh at myself later on down the road! maybe at the end of this trip we can laugh at me together!

random ramblings

just some random ramblings....¿son mis locuras, y que?!

#1 Reasons why I am a conservative: I DO NOT BELIEVE in Communism. This is a lifestyle that is encouraged by the liberal agenda.

I work to support myself, to support my family and because I want a better lifestyle.

If I believed in this form of society I would move to Cuba. I would give away my worldly possessions to help others and I would expect others to pay for and support me. In other words, I would believe in expanding the welfare system rather than expect people to work and be self sufficient as my parents and my culture/heritage has taught me to do/be.My grandparents never received welfare food stamps or Medicaid. My grandparents/parents would be embarrassed to live like this and make it a lifestyle as many people do.

Look at Obamacare!! I believe that this is a prime example of the objectives of the liberal agenda of the Democrats in our country (aka another example of Communisim). I do not work to pay more taxes! I do not work to pay for someone else to get medical care for free!

I am not saying that the intentions of the bill are bad. Sure I would love to get medical care for free, but it isn't free! I am going to end up paying taxes which means that it isn't free! One thing I have learned in my life is that NOTHING IS FREE! Whether you worked for it or someone else worked for it for you.. it is not free!

If you want to live like this do us all a favor and move to another country that way YOU are happy and I am happy and we can all live happily ever after! Look at Canada to the north you can get all the free medical care you want! :)
