my Fitbit Flex review

After reading all the reviews, evaluating my needs, and comparing your products to other similar products (Nike fuel band, BodyMedia, Jawbone, etc.), I decided to purchase your Fitbit Flex because I decided it was a product met my needs. I purchased my Fitbit Flex at Best Buy on 06/03/13. I loved it and enjoyed telling my friends and family about it. My husband purchased one too and this really motivated us to becoming more active. I have a few friends that were also intending to purchase it so that we could "compete."

Although I am not a fitness guru I have a lot of Facebook friends who follow me and have been following my menu plan and my fitness activities and motivational posts. I recommended the Flex to them because it was an awesome motivator.

Less than one month after purchasing it, my Fitbit flex kicked the bucket and refused to charge. I returned it to Best Buy because I had purchased their extended warranty. I was just going to get the item exchanged for another Flex because I really enjoyed the features. I was informed that the item was no longer on their inventory lists and it seemed that they were no longer going to carry it. They refunded me my money for the purchase price via gift card. Although I know that this is not your fault because you do not have anything to do with Best Buy's policies. I was extremely disappointed because I now have a gift card that is pretty much useless because I normally do not shop there. I am now out over 100 dollars and I do not want to be out another 100 dollars if I purchase another and have similar experience with it.

I am not convinced about purchasing the item directly from your company. From what I have read, if I had had purchased the item through you directly, I would only have a 45 day RMA warranty plus I would be responsible for all the shipping costs and only a limited warranty for 365 days through your company. Hence the reason for purchasing it at Best Buy.

Since I have had this issue, my husband is only using his Flex sporadically and is planning to return it as soon as he has ANY issues with it. Additionally, several of my friends have decided to put off purchasing a Flex until I decide if I am going to purchase another or go with another product. At this time I am considering purchasing a Nike Fuel Band or a Jawbone. Leaning towards the Fuel Band though because my brother has had a Nike Fuel band since Christmas and has had no issues with it

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it for the short period of time that I owned it. I decided to email you regarding this issue because I wanted to let you know what my thoughts were and what I am telling my friends as they continue to wait for the latest installment of what pedometer I will be using in the future. Wish I had not had any issues with your product. I was extremely disappointed.
